I will definitely recommend this as a go to spot. The food and environment was nice. A fun place to watch the games or to entertain friends at the bar.

Tasty food, friendly staff. Nice portion sizes. Noise level is high (it is a bar/pub) So keep that in mind if you want a more quiet and intimate setting. There is seating outside, but in the summer it can be uncomfortable out on the terrace and it sits on 501 so there is noise from the road. All in all a good place!!! Food outweighs the noise issues!!

Like great food, tons of beer selections, great service, and an occasional free pint glass to remember this by? Go no further. Biggest hidden gem in SC shore areas. Don’t judge the place by its cover. Inside is a jewel of great food and drink. Should be called the Hidden Gem.

Grumpy Monk is an awesome place for happy hour food and drinks. Their burgers are the best I've ever had (try the Monk burger with peanut butter). The sushi is always amazing. I also recommend trying the zippy shrimp, buffalo chicken mac and cheese, and fried pickles.

So glad we finally tried this place. We've tried to go two times before when we were in town and the wait was longer than we wanted. It was kind of loud, but not too bad. The food was excellent! My husband had Poutine Mountain and it was divine. We will probably come back as long as the wait isn't too bad.

First, I want to say we love the food here! We visit every time we come to the beach. Today we called in an order for pick up and the gentleman who answered was so rude. He was frustrated that we wanted to change the toppings on a burger. We are supporting your restaurant and expect to be treated with respect!

Food was tasty, large selection of beers on tap. Service was very good!

The food was great!! Even better, the prices were very fair. The burgers are so big and juicy that you need two hands at all times. Our only problem was slow service for a not -so-busy restaurant, but that might just have been our waitress.

Try the Nola and the sushi. The local beer selection is great.

One of my favorite spots! When you hear “burgers” and “sushi” joint, you get suspicious since the 2 usually don’t go together.. but this place nails it! Their Sunday Happy Hour is my favorite- cheap eats all day and all day happy hour! Plus they’re dog friendly! We love to bring our puppy and sit outside on their patio under the string lights. Highly recommend!

Grumpy hosted my husband's work party last night. They did an awesome job with our large group. Very friendly service and great food. Thank you!

Just a cool, local bar with good food and well rounded menu steaks, sushi, burgers, wings etc... Sometimes the food can be a miss but for the most part they are pretty on point. The service sometimes can be shotty close to closing time, but other then that I enjoy coming to this bar.They have a chalk board beer menu persay but instead of a chalk board it's a TV screen with theres beers, on top of carrying all domestic beers.

Fast, Friendly, Efficient Service. Food was Great and early bird specials can't be beat.

Great selection of beers , craft and domestic. There is something on the menu for everyone. I appreciate the sides you can get without and upcharge. My mom dislikes fries but, loves slaw. She was able to get it without and additional charge. That is very rare at any restaurant. Plus, I can get Tater tots which I LOVE😊Lots of vegetarian/ vegan options as far as restaurants go. I can get more than just a "salad". A must try.

Update: Issue resolved manager was polite and friendly. I will always remember this and be a customer for life. Food and staff are always great. Go check them out! Accidents happen nothing was purposely done I understand that. :)Original:Went in Monday night had 100 bill set aside to pay for food. Gave it to waitress expecting change and never received the change. Did not notice by end of dinner. Ended up paying with card and tipping. Dinner was 66 bucks ended up costing me a lot more... will be in today to check camera and make sure it was accident and not a theft. Girl was nice so sure wasn’t her fault just needs to be handled properly.

I come here just for the California rolls ♥️ they are so delicious! The veggie rolls are really good to! Everyone is SO nice here! I also love the bartenders! Is very clean here and I ALWAYS see them cleaning in their spare time! Love this place! 10 stars! ALSO PS, keep your receipts and bring them back your next visit and get 10% off your order! Food, atmosphere, bartenders, & most staff are excellent but... the hostess tonight is absolutely grumpy 😡. She really seems like she doesn’t want to be here working & looks at you like your speaking another language. Her attitude stinks! But we have been here about 10 times & this was the first time we had a nasty person at the Carolina Forest location.

Happened to be in the area, and needed to eat. Just lucked out choosing The Grumpy Monk. My husband had the fried chicken waffle sandwich, which was crisp and delicious, and I had the grilled shrimp tacos. Yum! The shrimps were a good size, not some tiny little things. The beer was good, too. But, too many choices!The only problem, for me, is no tea bags for hot tea. I like to finish off my meal that way. But, we're looking forward to trying the N. Myrtle Beach outlet soon!

First time there,and definitely not the last!!! Our waitresses name was Sarah,she was training but did awesome!!! Lots of TVs for the sports fans,great atmosphere. The food was great. We all enjoyed it.

Very popular place. I actually went a little early to beat the crowd. My chicken sandwich was great, and my server was very helpful. It was my first time there and I hope to visit again.

I can't remember the name of the sandwich I ordered but my sandwich was so good and just how I like it with lots of layers. Me and my step dad traded a sandwich so we could see how each others taste, both were good.. Staff was nice, place was clean, and the environment was a chill environment. Not pricey at all. I will be back.

Had dinner last evening with the outside dining. This was my first time at the restaurant, such a pleasant experience. The gentleman that was seating us was amazing (didn’t get his name). One of the nicest people I have encountered since moving to the area, he made us feel so welcomed. The waitress was great and the food was delicious. We will definitely be going back!!

Good entrees. Very reasonable prices. Place was full on a Tuesday night, which is always a good sign. Our waiter was nice and gave me a great craft beer recommendation from the menu. Side dishes were just okay. Mac and cheese was barely warm. I would definitely go here again though.

My daughter took me there tonight as a gift of thanks. We enjoyed ourselves very much. The atmosphere was clean and very relaxed they even had a singer. The waterfall when you come in was amazing. But now for the reason you go out to a place like that is to maybe have a drink (the draft beer selection was great) & a bite to eat..A++++ the for the great food and the portions were the same A++++ I couldnt stop looking at what others were having, saying next time I will try that.. We will also try the homemade ice cream made by a local resident next time. Waiter Bryson had a nice personality and new the menu well.** This is a great place a must try.

We had lunch here on the way out of Myrtle Beach. We had seen this place coming in, but didn't get to check it out until we left. Seriously, this place was awesome. It was great atmosphere, amazing food, lots of menu options!! Sushi, burgers and tons of other stuff. Really tasty and the service was great. My best friend and I picked up some souvenir glasses with really fun sayings on it for about 5 bucks. Would definitely recommend!!

The wait time was not that long and you can actually look at your position on thier website after you add your name to the list. I went on Friday so they had live music. The food was great but the server wasn't very attentive due to having multiple tables, however I will definitely go back to try the sushi. It looked delicious with a healthy portion.

We went in and ordered off the happy hour menu. Ended up getting our food to go since it was so cold in there. Other than that it seemed a nice atmosphere- lots of tvs where we were. Our server was more than happy to get our stuff to go!

Great place! The zippy tacos are amazing! All the food came out quickly and was really good. Will visit again when traveling to the beach. Prices are reasonable, even really good at happy hour!

Tuesday night quiz night is great fun. The staff are helpful and friendly. The food is reasonably priced and very tasty.Plenty of choice with what to eat and drink. Will happily return.

My wife and I really like this place. We can take our dog, Tugboat and sit outside. The Dougie is my favorite sandwich. Service and beer were good. We come here a lot, if you see us, please pet Tugboat.

Love this place!! They make the best tater tots and I love tater tots. Husband had a blue cheese burger and he loved it. I had a chicken buffalo sandwich without the buffalo. It was very good, I will be getting that again. I add ranch dressing to the sandwich since I don't care for hot and spicy.

Very delicious fried pickles and the food was cooked perfect. The guy playing the guitar and singing was pretty awesome too. Would definitely come back after this first impression.

Bad acoustics...very loud. Food is decent. Coating for fried green beans and sushi too hard, too thick.Beers and burgers are great.
